Rating: 3.5 out of 5
Debut Year: 2011
Type: DHA Bronzer
Bottle Size: 6.8 oz.
Price: $53-65
Ingredients: N/A
Scent:
“Zesty lime verbena” is the official scent. I can detect the lime, but it’s not too heavy. It’s a subtle “clean” scent with a tad bit of lime thrown in there. It’s quite nice.
Lotion:
This lotion is purported to do all kinds of crazy things, such as detect which areas of your skin need certain ingredients and then send those ingredients from the lotion to those areas. Lol, I don’t know if I believe half of the things it’s supposed to do, but it’s a nice effort at least, right? The texture of the lotion is quite nice, and the skin care ingredients are wonderful.
Color:
This lotion is crazy hyped—like, world-changing hyped. So, admittedly, I used it with very high expectations. Well, you know what they say about high expections… Expect to be disappointed. I was. My $12 bronzers got me better color than this. Now, that’s not to say that you shouldn’t use this lotion; after all, the level of color is only one factor in the equation. The skin care properties of this lotion are wonderful, so that should definitely be considered. I will word it this way: If I had this much money to blow on a bottle of this, I’d probably use it as a moisturizer, not a tanning lotion.
Special:
Make note of the tiny bottle size: 6.8oz. Due to the style of bottle this lotion is in, you won’t be able to cut it open very easily to use up all of the lotion. So, you’ll probably end up forking over $60 to be able to, realistically, use around 6oz. of lotion. Also, there are several lotions in the Cypher family; the Cypher Optimizer is, by far, the most talked about, so be sure you get the purple bottle pictured above.
