I get good color from it and no ato at all!!! The citrusy scent gets to me..I don't hate and I don't luv it. 3/5 stars In the end I got real sick of this lotion (not too mention the sucky citrus scent) and passed it on to my husband who likes it a lot.

This was one of the first high end lotions that I bought and really ended up liking.
Scent- smells like grapefruit and citrus I always liked it.
Lotion- light brown and really has a lot of silicone. Absorbs really well but can feel a little greasy at times.
ATO- none. I never smelt DHA with this one either.
Color boost- looking back I wasn't very dark using this one but I did have some good color. This is a good starter bronzer in my honest opinion.
All and all: 3/5

Scent: very artificially citrus, didn't like
Ato: mostly was the original scent that I picked up with a slight dha tint. Kept smelling my arm because something was off
Consistency- medium thickness and rubbed in easily. It has the typical designer skin silicone feel to it. It didn't stain or streak.
If the scent was more pleasant I might be able to tolerate the lotion. I didn't get a big color boost so despite the number of bronzers, I'd consider it a mid bronzer. If you like the scent of lemon pledge it could be worth it for you.

A lot of people were disappointed by this lotion because they expected to get a lot more color from it. I don't blame them, the lotion is called "Black" after all!
Personally, I LOVE this lotion. The smell is beautiful, like grapefruit. No ATO for me, just the smell of the lotion itself on my skin. The bronzers are not very dark in this one, but the color seems delayed...a short time later I see it start to darken on my skin. It doesn't get super dark, but it's the kind I like, where it's more brown as opposed to golden.
I love the feel of this and all the other DS lotions. It does have a lot of silicone, but not so much that it's super sticky or heavy.
I will definitely get another bottle. I think they should change the name though!

When Black first came out, everyone in my salon lost their minds over it. Seriously, you would have thought it was a gift from the heavens! I have said many times before that I never got great results with DS' top of the line lotions and Black was no exception. I loved the skincare in Black and I loved the way it felt on my skin but I just didn't get much color from it and I used it several times in several different beds. It sold very well in the salon, though!
