I've been a smoker for 20+ years. Tried my first cigarette at 12 or 13 and never quit. Well it's been over a week now since I've had one, but I have started vaping. For those who aren't familiar with it, I'm basically getting my nicotine via "e-cigarette," but I'm not sucking down 4000 cancer causing chemicals that are in regular smokes. And I can get my fix indoors now without offending or harming others as it doesn't stink or give off secondhand smoke. It's water vapor, which if there's any smell at all, tends to be pleasing to others.
Anyone else vape? I know there's all kinds of controversy over it but I actually prefer it over smoking traditional cigarettes. Being a pack and a half smoker everyday for so long, putting down the Camels has been a huge feat. I have about 8 different flavors, but butterscotch has been my favorite by far.
Thoughts?

I vaped for like a month because i was curious what the hype was about. I'm not a smoker and never was. I gave all my vaping stuff ( I acquired ALOT within that month lol) to my dad. He has been vaping exclusively since september. He used to be a heavy smoker. Now we just have to convert my mom. She's the heaviest smoker of all. She won't go for it though. I really enjoyed a local cherry flavor and almost always vaped on that even though I had about 20 other flavored juices.

I tried a cherry cola but it just didn't do it for me.
Hopefully your Mom will consider switching. Really is supposed to be so much better than cigs. I hope there won't be any new findings though lol. I did learn through researching that the cheaper juices, like $3.95 made in Chinas sold in gas stations, are full of toxins though. So I won't mess with those. I've just been sticking with the $10 and up ones from the shop. And even though I have multiple gadgets and juices for my e-cigarette, it's still been cheaper than smoking. Crazy.

Have you ever ordered juices online? Mountbakervapor.com and thevaporchef.com are both great.

I started vaping (or trying to) a couple months ago. I did really well at first, my first week using mine I only smoked 5 cigs. I recently picked right back up smoking like I was before I started vaping....I believe it has a lot to do with the stress and grief of losing my father in December, and due to that me just not being "fully mentally" ready to lay them down. I know in my heart I want to quit, just gotta get my brain to feel the same way!

I haven't. I go to Vaperite(.com is the site,) here in Georgia. They have a bar where you can try their juices before you buy. It's the first and only shop I've been to and I'm super impressed. They have yet to steer me wrong on my purchases and they haven't tried to sell me expensive models even though I was willing to pay. I'm sure I'll order online from other sites eventually though so I'll keep those in mind!

But I've found I find vaping more satisfying than a cigarette. I think it's important to really find a flavor you like. I never really experimented with cigarette brands. And although I have different flavors of juice, I've been sticking with the butterscotch as my favorite. Picking up more today with no desire to try anything new since I have flavors I don't touch already. I wish you the best on coping with your loss. And good luck quitting and / or switching.

I'm actually going to get one of these this week. I went to a shop in my town and he has some really cute tiny ones. I don't want a huge one because its uncomfortable to hold. M best friend has one and I can't wait to get mine. The store near me tho charges like 16$ for a 12ml flavor.

I had a cute pen style one that was a bright purple with a purple cartomizer and purple drip tip. I got the whole setup plus a charger and 1 15ml juice for like $57

Yes, mine is the pen style with a variable setting that I typically keep at 4.2. No mini rocket ships for me lol. I bought an Ego starter kit with 2 batteries and clearomizers on sale for $50'ish which turns out was a crazy good deal. Comes in a black hardshell case. Since initial purchase, I've gotten a few more pyrex tanks in different colors, thinking I could carry different flavors with me to suit my taste at the time. But I've just been sticking to the butterscotch so those were kinda pointless lol. I was told the coils go out often (once a week or so,) depending on frequency of vaping so I stocked up with 12 considering the shop isn't really nearby. But in a little over 2 weeks I've only had to replace once and I vape A LOT lol.
I love it though. More than cigarettes. And I hope it really is better than smoking because I prefer vaping much more than stinky hair and ashtrays!
