Are any of you celebrating this year? If so, what will you be giving your significant other? We can keep this thread going after Vday with what we received also. This year I was trying to think outside of my usual gift routine of candy, clothes, shoes, cologne, etc. He had jokingly suggested getting a massage at a massage place a few times and I shot him down each time. So, I did some research and found a reputable massage chain near us that has a deal for a 1 hour massage for 1st time clients. Its only $60. So, I figured id get him a $75 gift card so that it will include the massage and tip. That's what they reccomend on their website. I know we have reservations at a really fancy restaurant downtown. He made the reservations in December. We usually go to the mall and pick out something for me for vday but we didn't this year so who knows what's going to happen. I'll be happy with just a sweet card though. I'm very sentimental.

I bought my wife and I tickets to a live show she indicated she was interested in seeing in downtown Philadelphia. The tickets are for an afternoon performance on Sunday Feb. 15. So we will take the train into the city, have lunch, and go to the show.
I also got a cute card - to put the tickets in. I always write a very personal message in the card. Need a lot of blank space.
I am really proud that I have taken care of valentine present this year more than 2 weeks in advance. I have the card hidden waiting for valentines day (she does not like getting presents early).

Pretty sure I'm avoiding Valentine's day at all costs like I do every year. I guess it doesn't seem all that romantic to me. Especially when you put it into a historical context. There were three Saint Valentines. All of which were martyred. There is everything from the romantic story to the story of where a Saint Valentine helped Christians escape the Roman prisons. Also, my wedding anniversary is the day after Valentine's day. I told him we'd never be married if it was on the day of.

I'm not going to really be doing anything (sans working) because my boy is living in another country. I'll be mailing him a card but other than that, we're putting all of our extra money towards my going to visit.

Theresa (my spouse) ran out at lunch from work today to get the last stuff for a Valentine's package that she is mailing to my daughter (age 29) and son-in-law (just turned 30). There will be little presents and valentines candy in the package. We live about 2 hours and 90 miles apart. She lives in Queens, NYC. Theresa and I live with our son (age 27) in Newtown, PA (Bucks County). SO as you know.... They are always your babies..... I used to always get Theresa Fannie May valentines candy (Truffles and Trinidads), but now they are only mail order, expensive, and we both could use to lose 5 - 10 pounds.... so no candy for Theresa (at her request). I hope everyone has a nice Valentines day. Only 9 days away.

My boyfriend and I are going to the Cheesecake Factory for lunch and hopefully we'll go hang out at a park or walk around an outside shopping center. I'm in Texas so it'll be 65 degrees!! I never know what to get him for special occasions because he's a computer guy and the things he wants are usually very specific, so I took it into my own hands. I ordered a personalized wallet for him because his is falling apart
