Hey, sooo I’ve been wondering what the ingredient(s) are in tanning lotions with ‘tattoo protection’. I have a bunch of tattoos (sleeves, and random ones) that I’m concerned about fading now that I’m tanning again. I try to put on sunblock but I have soooo much to cover, truly it’s a pain in the butt.
I usually try to use lotions that are marketed with tattoo protection, but I’m not sure if I want to trust all the marketing with my ink.
Does anyone have any information about how to keep tattoos fresh, that doesn't involve sunscreen. Does tattoo protection lotion actually protect tattoos? Or is it marketing? I’m having trouble finding information online.
Thanks y’all!

I know that Ed Hardy Black Elixir is supposed to be a tattoo protection lotion. I'm having trouble finding any though. Not sure if it has been discontinued or not.

Devoted Creations is my go to because they have SOOO many good ingredients in their lotions. I forgot about Ed hardy, I used a couple of his lotions back in the day; I never tried black elixir, is it good?

Good questions!! I'm in the same boat with my tattoos. I usually try to always use lotions with tattoo protection BUT I do use a tattoo stick w/spf and for my tattoos on my back I before I go to the salon I apply Jwowws tattoo protection cream (been using it for a few years) and I can honestly say my tattoos don't look faded!! Even the one that I got when I was 18 (I'm now 44) it doesn't look bad and I've never had it touched up!! I'll be getting Pauly D's Forever Inked tattoo cream soon one my Jwoww one is gone.

Thank you for the input; I’m glad your tattoos look vibrant, I know you use a lot of good lotion, so it gives me faith. I am using Pauly D’s forever inked, it’s great, it spreads so well and smells sooo good (reminds me of aftershave)

Hey! I also have a sleeve and a bunch of large pieces. Most lotions these days have tattoo protection in them. Jwoww, Snooki, Pauly D all have them. Escapade by DS has it. Honestly, most of the new Devoted lotions have them too. I know Matte Black and Black Obsession does. If you're ever curious about which lotion has what, I always just look at it on the distributor's website.

Again, I am still having trouble finding it. Not sure if it is discontinued or not.
