I just purchased on old metal tanning bed (1995โish model). Plugged it up and everything seems to work properly. However, when I laid in it today (first time) it shocked me (not bad, but enough to alarm me) if my arm touched the metal. The paint is chipped along the edge, could this be the problem? What do you think?

I don't think it's because of lack of paint, it has to be a wire on the main board or the control board (where you turn it on or select your time) that has a wire touching the main frame of the bed. Not only could this cause you harm, even death, it could cause a fire! Unplug that thing and get someone that know about electricity to check out everything and do proper soldering of any loose wires. OR maybe it was just static electricity on you?
