I've used it three times now, and it hasn't done anything for me that the other beds don't do. Plus, I don't like having to lay there for 20 minutes (although this would be a plus to some other people).

Since I'm new to the tanning world, I doubt my experience holds too much weight, but I really enjoy this bed! I see a visible difference every time I use it and I personally love that it's 20 minutes -- I have to drive a little out of my way to get to it, so I want to make it feel "worth it" lol.

Blondie: 200 watt, but part of the bed's design is that it detects what your skin "needs" and will downgrade the wattage appropriately. Another thing I hate about it. I want full wattage; don't tell me what you think I need! lol

Yeah, it's so that you never burn. But again, I'm like, let ME decide how much wattage I need! XD

While I really like the look of this bed, I don't like the concept either. I shouldn't have to scan my skin to see how long the bed thinks I should tan. They push this bed a lot where I tan, which I think is ok for someone building their base tan, but not for someone who is well past that stage. I have tanned in it once so far and wasn't too impressed.
UPDATE: 08/26/13 I hadn't tanned at Beach Bum in MONTHS, so I stopped by here yesterday afternoon on my way home from running some errands. My membership had expired, but I got a good deal on a pack of lotion and tanning in this bed, so I figured I would try it again. I was actually in the mood to tan for a whole 20 minutes yesterday, so it was very relaxing. I got a HUGE color boost from this bed, much better than the first time I used it back in the winter months. Even though I used a tingle, not once did I get hot or sweaty thanks to the awesome cooling system that Ergoline has in their beds. My face also got a nice boost of color, as well as my shoulders. I do find the talking guide slightly annoying, but it's nice to be able to turn that off once your session starts. Very impressed with my session in this this yesterday, 5 out of 5 stars!

I used this for the first time today. My tan is pretty advanced so I'm not sure the technology this bed has is preventing any burning at this point. I feel kinda goofy pressing the scanner against my forehead (God I hope they wipe those down every time or else I'm going get a strange zit pattern on my head!) My salon told me to also press it on the inside of my wrist, however the voice guide says "on your least tan area of your body that will be exposed to the UV". I wonder if you press it to a darker area if you can "outsmart" it to give you better exposure? Anyway, I'm not sure how and if this technology actually works. If it does, I would say I'd recommend this bed for folks just starting out with their tan. I've been burned in more than a few beds from overexposure due to improper recommendations from salon staff. The other features are great...the molded acrylic is very comfortable, even if you flip over. The climate control is awesome! It's a very hot and muggy day here in the mid Atlantic but not a drop of sweat was shed...even with using a tingle. I enjoy the 20 minute limit since I like the extra time to relax or catnap Since this is one of many beds included in my membership, I'll definitely use it again to see if repeated uses affects my color 4/5

Amendment to my review since this bratty machine ticked me off today!! I scanned the exact same areas I did last time, but the thing self adjusted for less output! Huh!?! I've been tanning several times a week since like March!!! It reduced the facials to setting 1, which is the lowest. It shut off every 2nd bulb in the canopy and bed, shut the shoulder tanners off with 5 mins left, and shut off the facials completely wuth 2 mins remaining. I was so annoyed I turned the bed off early and just got out. The last time I was in it everything stayed on the entire 20 mins. Either this scanner thing is really inconsistent, malfunctioning, or it really thinks I've gone that much paler since Friday? If anyone has better insight how this machine works, please share!! As an advanced tanner, my rational thinking on how this machine is SUPPOSED to work says it wouldn't turn off bulbs when you're at your maximum darkness. So for now I'm changing my rating.... 4/5 if you're starting out with your tan. 0/5 and waste of a tanning session if you're already dark

Yeeeeeep, that's the issue I have with it. It's eyeroll-inducing if you're a tanning veteran. Good for newbies, I guess.
