So I went with some friends to the Six Flags White Water water park here in Atlanta, and the park security told me that I had to leave and get a different bathing suit because my bikini was "not family friendly". WTF does that even mean? It covered up everything a bikini should cover up, I don't know what the big deal was. Before I went I made sure to go to their website and read their dress code policy and it said nothing about not being too revealing. But I mean, it's a bikini, the whole point is to be revealing, right?
It was super embarrassing! I wound up buying some shorts at their park store rather than leave and I wrote the park management about it. It's ridiculous for them to say my outfit was against the park dress code, and the park dress code didn't say anything about showing too much skin.

That is terrible. Sorry you had that issue at what should have been a fun carefree day.
Definitely write to the management at the park and cc corporate.
Unfortunately, that seems to be what it takes to TRY to make needed change anywhere.
I hope you managed to have a fun day after the unnecessary embarrassment to start off your day.

I'm sorry to hear that, that's pretty stupid. I can understand if you had on a thong bathing suit but a regular women's two piece bikini shouldn't be that big of a deal. Here in Virginia we have Kings Dominion (like Six Flags) and I was just there a month ago at their water park. I saw so many different bikinis there that girls and women were wearing that I didn't think twice about any of it being inappropriate and not family friendly. That's why it's a WATER PARK. I'm not sure what else you are supposed to wear!

Woooooow. I mean, unless you boobs were falling out of the top, I don't see what the issue is. I'm sure at least 25% of the park attendees were in bikinis...

Yeah, I don't get it either, people wear whatever. Sounds like they are seriously prudes if they actually confronted you. Was it the top that was the issue or the bottom? I have worn thongs on public beaches in the US in the past and that was often the issue more than the top.

Thanks. Yeah it was ridiculous. The bikini was pretty skimpy, sure, but it covered everything. It's not like I wore a thong or something (though I wish I could). We still had fun but it was lame as hell to have to cover myself up.

I think getting offended by a bikini is a waste of time. More often then not, ppl will have wedgies, and ride ups more revealing. At the end of the day its the human body, and if someone is that embarrassed...well relax...we all have bodies...relax.

That's so crazy!!!! I've seen some pretty revealing bikinis before at water parks and even revealing one piece suits... I'll never forget the first time Hubby and I went to DollyWoods Splash Country and their was these two girls that were wearing one piece bathing suits with the sides cut out and when they were wet you could see right through them... Nipples and ... Well down there without going into detail was in plan view!!!!!! And like others said your going to have ride ups and boob slippage when at a water park no matter what... I'm so sorry they did you that way... So unfair ...

I've never really understood how a country with so much international heritage went in the opposite direction over nudity, or the body in general. Want to wear a thong and just the thong on the beach in Cannes, no problem. Want to go nude on the sand in Dubrovnik, Ibiza, Australia? sure. Rio? Just put something over your butt before you get to the boulevard, because you might cause car accidents. Even men and women who aren't the most pleasing to look at get skimpy without causing a fuss.
But in the U.S.? You'd get arrested. Michigan State Parks used to measure a woman's swimsuit on the beach for "decency" and hand out tickets. What was really funny was I could be tied up at the park dock and women (or men, for that matter) could wear anything that barely covered the genitals as long as they stayed on the boat. (Think lots of girls in Wicked Weasel.)You can bet lots of guys liked to walk up and down the dock!
Sorry you got hassled.

Omg how stupid!! Puritans and Karens have to ruin everything. I'd be pissed off too! Adults should be able to enjoy the water park! Piss off about kids and family friendly 🙄
