So I figured I'd make this thread just because I've had a few ppl on here, IG and Twitter ask me about how long can a lotion last..
Based on my personal experience some lotions can last for years if properly stored....a few of my older lotions are from 2006 and are totally fine as the day I bought them from the salon.
**Basic common sense with keeping your lotions good and intact**
*Store or keep your lotions away from light, heat and cold
*Check your lotions often, shake them up to check for consistency..if they seem watery or lumpy and they shouldn't be they've probably gone bad.
*Lotion packets-Squish them around every so often and again keep them away from heat and cold..packets can also be hit or miss and its possible to get a bad packet you just won't know til you open it.
*Scent-while checking your lotions smell them..you will know if they're bad.
*DHA bronzers can go bad faster vs. accelerators etc IMO check these more often for changes
*Never leave a lotion in a hot or cold car.....heat will most likely ruin a lotion over cold, heat is extremely damaging to a lotions and will breakdown the lotion consistency fast and make it like water......not to mention heat can make a lotion bottle explode! **Cold doesn't always ruin a lotion (a lot of ppl refrigerate their lotions in the summer...This winter I have personally had a few lotions freeze frozen solid in the winter due to extreme cold during shipping (and yes I was highly concerned) but they were totally fine and still are to this day...just keep a eye out for scent and consistency changes.
*Most lotion bottles now have the little 12-24mo expiration thing on the back..IMO this is good for ppl who don't store their lotions or those who don't rotate thru lotions a lot....but for someone like me its pointless since I store and check my lotions often and know what to look for.

**Based on my personal experience with having a LOT of lotion here's what I do**
*My bottles are in storage bins in my bedroom closet....this works in keeping them perfect as the day I bought them! Some of my oldest lotions are from 2006/07 like SB Priceless,AG Love Monkey,SB Black Diamond,DS Hemphatic,AG Pink Passion,Thrust,Pure Gold and Dream On and some others......ALL of them are totally 100% fine.
*I check ALL my lotions atleast 1x a month..but if your not one who wants to do that then every 2mo is my rec.
*any questions feel free to send me a message =)
