 This old relic used to get me SO DARK back in the day. It got ridiculously hot, and the maximum exposure time was supposed to be 15 minutes, but for some reason, my old salon used to let people go for 20. I would tan it again in a heartbeat if I could find it.
What are your favorite older tanning beds?

Oh my gosh, love this thread! I have a few I can think of!  I used to use a the Cyber Dome back in 2004-2007 at a salon I used to tan at near where I went to college. It was an older bed like the one in the picture and was AWESOME! I would get soooooo dark!  Then, at the tanning salon I go to sometimes, they had this older style Solaris bed. Unfortunately, they upgraded all of their beds last year and got rid of it and I hate the newer beds they have in its place. This one gave me such a deep brown tan.  Also, the Ergoline 600 Classic was another great bed. I know that's not really an older bed, but I used that at the same place that had the Cyber Dome bed at the same time and it gave me amazing color too. |

I used to use the Ultrasun Sunburst 4000 in like '02-'04. It used to get me so dark - it is what got me hooked on tanning.  |

I've only been tanning since 2006, but those little old Ergoline beds are amazing. I know a salon that has a few of them, plus the 600, but the place is a dump so I don't usually go there.

I used to use the Ultrasun Sunburst 4000 in like '02-'04. It used to get me so dark - it is what got me hooked on tanning. My salon has these beds as their level 1, but with 3 facials. I love it! |

And whatever was the 30min beds back in the day,I think they were either from Tan America or Wolff.
My STC at a location I used to tan at has the Tan America Santa Barbara base bed that years ago(before my salon changed into a STC) for a extra $1 or2 we could do 30mins instead of 20 but they stopped that a years ago when the owner merged the salon into STC.

Yes I agree.....About 10 years ago I too, used the 30 minute bed right after the bulbs were replaced. talk about baking yourself -- what a color boost. @ the time I had tanned about 8 to 10 years and had joined Iamtan in 2003. I had become a more avid tanner after joining the IAT website. Began to experiment with tanning more frequently, using stronger beds and going the max time in every bed. I seriously began "to wonder" if I was becoming addicted to tanning. Do you ever wonder about this? Ten years ago, I laid outside in early July for 3.5 hours (11:30 AM to 3 PM). That evening prior to the salon closing, I went to my favorite salon to try tanning indoors. Discovered that the bulbs had been changed in the all beds that very day. I knew the salon employees and they let me use one of the re-lamped beds and let me go for the full 30 minute time limit (that only employees went). I liked it so much that I returned the very next morning (yes I tanned twice in less that 24 hours) and went for 30 minutes again. After this episode, I had to confess that I answered my own question, I am an addicted tanner....and have been one ever since. |

It started for me when I started laying out in the sun when I was 12..I wasn't laying out a lot but enough to know I loved the color I was getting! Then I begged my mom to let me going tanning for a month with her..and the rest is history! lol ADDICTED!!! After that my mom let me tan 1month (2months if I was lucky)every year in April or May then I would layout as much as I could.....in highschool my summers I layed out daily from 10am to 3pm weather permitting....then go do 30mins at the salon...I was my darkest in 1990's...goodtimes back then!!! I'd love to be that dark again but I can't layout all day like I used to lol |
