Thanks Laney!! That was my "I feel like I look like a mess" face lol I have day 3 curls going on wich surprisingly look nice!! Today was gonna be a wash day but its HUMId out and I'm not ready to deal with that drama yet lol 2mrw morning I'm going to cut some ends off myself that won't curl at all,its looks so dumb with curls and straight ends lol And yesterday on IG @mixedchickshair featured me!! I was like OMG lol so maybe my hair doesn't look that bad (to me it does tho) 3b curls are noooo joke lol It doesn't look bad silly. I wish I could get away with a 3 day old hairstyle. Lucky!! We always think the worst of ourselves. A trim always feels good and fresh!! Lol this is a 1st for me with going curly wich in the past I have never in my life had wash & go hair, getting 2days out of it was lucky,,I always had to use a lot of product to tame it down..but with using the mixed chicks leave in mixed with water has made this 3day hair a miracle!!! Now when I was straightening I could easy go 3days with going over my hair lightly with the straightener wich was fine with me til this BS damage started. I go for my next trim in June!

Cowashing. It takes getting used to but your hair will love you. So! Tresemme conditioners are my favorite. Antibreakage is my go to. First, you get enough conditioner to scrub all over your scalp the way you would shampoo. second, apply more conditioner to your ends. Clip up. Shower as normal. Then, get a smidge of water in your hair and scrub hair shampoo style for a minute. Rinse while scrubbing.

Start training your hair to wash less and less. Add a day. I used to do every other day, then say wash day was monday I would wash again thursday. Dry shampoo is your bff now. Personally I just tried baby powder yesterday and really loved it. If you have dark hair I heard mixing it with coco powder helps it from turning hair white. I was going threw spray dry shampoo fast because idk. It just didnt keep my hair fresh. A little baby powder and my hair is still fresh! Yay!

Oh yeah I usually wash mine every other day,the longest I can go is 4 days depending on my curls. I started embracing my curls back in April! It's going good so far.

I don't know how I missed this thread. I have naturally curly hair too and I've learned to love my hair. I only wash my hair in Suave Naturals Aloe and Waterlily conditioner. I might use a shampoo on it once a week but it has to be free of sulphates.
I started using the Curly Girl method and it has totally changed how my hair looks and feels. It has started growing much longer, it doesn't break off like it used to and it is really shiny. I haven't had nearly as many problems with frizz either.
Here are some of the products that I've used and loved: Jessicurl, Devacurl, Suave Naturals, Vo5, and Giovanni.

Biggest secret I learned in beauty school. Don't dry curly hair with a towel. Use a old tshirt to blot excessively wet hair or brown paper towels. The fiber from the towels rough up the curl pattern in your hair causing frizzy hair.
I hair curly/wavy hair but I keep mine short. Lol

It’s really good that you want to take a break from the heat that hair styling tools produce. But it’s also a truth that some hair tools are safe. Just take a look at latest models of sedu hair dryers. They protect your hair from breakage and roughness.

I also have curly hair. When I was a teenager, I used to straighten it. The barber used to do what they called "Thinning" which hurt. BY time I was 18 - I had a "Fro" and used a hair pick. When I started teaching aerobics class multiple times a day - I started getting my hair shaved/buzzed down to a #1 guide buzz. That made it so easy to wash, towel dry, and walk out of the gym. That's how I still keep my hair today - pretty much buzzed. So easy to take care of... My wife is jealous... I wish I had hair...

Its been a year this month I have given up heat tools and have maybe straightened my hair like 6 times this past year...and I have owned & used various Sedu straighteners and dryers over the years I know how good their products are.

I'm so glad my 2 sons have their dads hair type (wavy-ish) and not my tight 3b curls! I can say my curls have gotten a lot easier to deal with since when I started this post last year lol Atleast at my age of 40 I'm finally content with them and will only straighten once in a great while.
