Yeah that was me. I'm not advocating indoor tanning. But if you're gonna tan then no white bits is a good thing? Just wondered why you only tanned outdoors. Thanks for clarifying! I'm just glad that you aren't one of the people who thinks indoor tanning is horrible but yet think there is nothing wrong with laying outside for 10 hrs everyday and frying to a crisp. Course not. UV rays are UV rays. But some fail to understand that. I've known a couple of people who say they'd never ever use a tanning bed but they think it's fine to tan outdoors in summer and on holiday because it's "natural."

Just my luck. I'm out in the mountains of western Maryland. I am able to finally get out and catch some sun. The UV index is 7. But here comes the clouds. Yesterday I was on the Eastern shore of Maryland. When I could tan it was 55 degrees and cloudy. When I started to drive west (which I had to) the sun came out and temps went into the high 80's and the UV index went as high as 8 as I drove. Seems like sometimes you can't win. Did tan @ a salon in Hagergown. So did get my UV for the day.

I was in the quiet and peaceful marshlands along the Wye river in the AM, the traveled across the Chesapeake Bay Area and it's bridges. Then passed through south of Baltimore and ended the day near South Mountain. I am impressed with Maryland. Since I will be down here later this month I joined two salons and tanned in each yesterday several hours apart. Did I just say I tanned twice in one day!!! Il ow it is a NO NO.... But I just had a need to get a double dose of UV. So don't like I do.....but tan only once every 48 hours.

I left when I was 13 (geez that seems like forever ago) and my parents relocated us to south west Virginia, which I still reside in. I enjoyed living there, and it took me a long time being from the city to get use to "country living" but now I wouldn't have it any other way, I love my country life here in va. I miss it from time to time but recently took a trip to D.C and as much as I loved taking it all in again, I was glad to get home to my 200 acres and mountains :-)

I read reviews about area tanning salons, then called several before making my choice to try them out. I joined "By the Beach" in Centreville MD (with other outlets on the eastern shore and "What A Tan" in Hagerstown and Frederick MD. By the Beach had just replaced their level 2 beds (20 min) with new 120 watt bulbs last week. Yes, the beds were intense. What A Tan level 2 beds were 15 minute beds with 400 (2 each) watt facials. Yup, those beds were good also. Both salons were extremely clean and all personnel were very attentive to their tanners. I visited each salon twice, tanning 16 hours apart. Am returning by the end of the month to each area and plan on visiting each location again. Would recommend these salons to any tanner for tjhe quality of the personnel, the equipment, the competitive prices and the overall cleanliness of the salons,

After a rainy weekend, the sun is out today with a UV index in the high 9's. Excited to get a few hours in today, since the rain and overcast over the weekend kept me from being able to lay out! (rain did some good for my garden tho) =D

Get out there and get some sun and show us how your how your tan has improved by tanning all day today!! So get out and tan to your heart's content (all day if possible) and share your tanning progress pics with all the unlucky tanner's who have to work today.

Got another 2 hours in today, a really hot 2 hours I might add...today is the first day I have laid that I really broke a sweat. Would have liked to lay longer, but got to get a shower as I have errands to run later this evening!

Shannon,
I have a passion for tanning. I like to lay out in the sun as much as anybody. Today the temperature is 80°F and the UV is seven. That is great tanning weather for this area where I live.
however the stuff of life has to take precedence. Job, family, responsibilities and duties always call. Tanning takes a back seat to "this stuff of life" (unfortunately - darn it).
Have a great day and thanks for the update.
