Ok ladies...recently I had my hair cut into an a-line bob which I LOVE! My hair is fine, and straight and I can get volume at the crown when I blow it dry with a round brush. Problem is, I can't seem to get it to stay "poofy" throughout the day...it deflates in about an hour at work. I need a hairspray recommendation that will HOLD it. I don't care if my hair is soft or not....I want HOLD! (Especially now that it's hot and humid) I find aerosols work best on my fine hair in general. I currently have used/tried Pantene strong hold, Tresemme Freeze hold, and two expensive salon ones...one is a Tigi that's only soft hold, and one is Pureology. Thoughts!?

VAVOOM!!! by Redkin is great for holding spray. Have you tried powder volumizer(sp?) though? I buy the Got2b brand, and shake it on my roots and BAM! instant volume. The powder provides a little grip so if you tease and spray it will not fall flat or move... ha!

I personally prefer RAVE hairspray. The level 10 max hold. It's in a pink can. I've been using it for years. You can usually find it in Target

Seconding the powder volumizer. I used to have a cut that was a mini-bouffant type thing at the back and I used the powder volumizer the salon used when they first styled it. I think it was a Bedhead product.

Aveda Pure Abundance Hair Potion (powder) and/or Big Sexy Hair Root Plump Plus.
I have super fine hair, so I understand!

I haven't used hair spray since I lost a good amount of my hair (on my head) in the 80's. Here is what it looked like when I might have needed hairspray. Do you know which one is me? Picture from 7/4/1976 (bicentennial) outside the Liberty Bell in Philadelphia. Terry and friends in 1976 - which one is Terry?See if you can guess before looking at the tags. Have a GREAT Day!!!!

You had a whole lotta hair, Terry! I couldn't guess which one was you. I had to look at the tags.

Fyi I bought a travel sized bottle of Salon Grafix freezing hair spray and it's AWESOME if you want HOLD!! Major hold! I got it at Walgreens since I was going on vacation and it was the only kind they had in an aerosol travel sized. I will be getting a full sized bottle of it sometime (I saw Amazon has it for about $6). Warning...it is NOT a brushable spray...once you're sprayed, your 'do ain't going nowhere

I would say do a combo a powder volumizer or working spray (I like aquage), and a finishing spray like Redken Forceful 23.

I second the Rave. Or the 80's girls best friend - Aqua Net!

You may want to try a mousse when your hair is damp prior to blow drying. I love to use Redken Guts! You can actually use it on dry hair as well since it does "spray" the mousse. Thin layer on a section of dry hair before taking the round brush and dryer to it will give you INSANE hold and volume. For hair spray, I love Kenra and Aquage sprays in all holds. Never can go wrong with those.

You honestly just need to tease it, or tease it more if you already do.
