I recently started getting these red bumps on my arm pits. Its only in my arm pit area. They are very itchy. They have definitely multiplied since i first noticed them. I have 6-8 on my right arm pit and 2 on the left. I haven't been using anything new besides tanning lotion. You would think if it was the tanning lotion it would be all over. I've been using the same deoderant for years, same type of razor for years (I change the razor regularly), same detergent for clothes. I'm going to make a dr appt and try to see a dermatologist too. Anyone have ideas what this is and where it came from?

Heat rash? Tinea versicolor? (I've had that...more like a puffy patchy bumpy thing more than individual bumps when I had it in my arms). I've also had that happen to me just from simply using too much moisturizer throughout the day. There's another thread on here too somewhere about a similar problem happening to someone else...I'll see if I can find it.

I really don't think it's heat rash Cuz it's only my arm pits. My dr appt is Monday morning

I just looked it up. Thats not it either. Although I do believe I had that when I was pregnant with my son. It was all over my back.

Hopefully it's nothing serious. Let us know how you make out, since there seems to be different occurrences of rashes and bumps.
I'm dealing with one large bump myself. I noticed it under my eye immediately after tanning on Wednesday and now it's swollen to about the size of a nickel. Not tanning related though...I think it's a mosquito bite in an unfortunate spot!

She says she THINKS it's an allergic reaction but she doesn't know to what lol she gave me a tube of steroid cream to apply lightly to the area. I put it on when I got home and it looks to be a bit faded so I'm hopeful.

As we age..sometimes the body starts rejecting things that have never been an issue before. For me .. I have noticed certain foods can cause skin reactions. Also hair products,soaps..etc .So sometimes you can pinpoint the triggers by eliminating every thing and starting over slowly.
since it is in the armpit area.. possible that it is reacting to sweat,or clogged sweet glands. There is also a lymph node there too..
can I suggest trying possible milk thistle to detoxify and flush out ... read up on this type of thing...it amazes me every time I read up on natural curatives.

Sounds like hidradenitis suppurativa if they are deep (cystic-like). They are an autoimmune reaction. I get them once in a while ever since I caught a staph infection 4 years ago. Antibiotics will get rid of it.
