I wanted to ask and see what everyone pays for hair cuts, color, highlights, etc.?
I'm really really bad about staying with one stylist, so sometimes it costs me anywhere from $90-150 depending on where I go. Most of the time, it includes the haircut & style. However, I went to a franchise salon (I tend to shy away from those and will never go back again) that is popular in the VA/DC area because a couple of my close friends recommended this girl who does an awesome job. I should have ran the first time when it was $70 for a freaking haircut, but I got suckered into wanting new color too, so I went back three weeks ago to get my roots done and some balayage highlights and it was $200. Seriously, she may have painted 8 sections of my hair and charged me $125 for that and $75 for my roots, that don't even really match my natural color. I nearly died. Not including any haircut, just a half assed blow out.
Now I have roots upon roots if that makes sense. Lesson learned. Just because a salon is trendy and expensive, doesn't mean they do a great job. Never again!

I paid $200 at PR at Partners for color, highlights, and cut. But she worked with me for almost 3 hours. I live in Northern VA..every place I've been to here is expensive. Must be the area.

That is the salon I went to, PR @ Partners...LOL, small world!! I was in there for about an hour & 15 minutes. I guess we live in a very high priced area.

Well I splurge for highlights/color the gray roots for the summertime. (I like to leave highlights to the pros) In the colder months I color my own hair so I save $$ there. I used to wait until I'd visit folks in PA to see my old stylist and pay about $100 for the same service. But I don't get to PA often enough anymore and I was able to find a great stylist at PR. (After going thru 3 others who were, "meh") Just for a cut there it's $45 which I think it fair. Look how much we pay for tanning!!! Just sayin'

HAAAAA yeah, I'm very cheap with my hair. Granted, I dye it myself because I've been doing it for 16 years. So I only get cuts at salons. I go to one of the Walmart hair salons (SmartStyle), which sounds insane, but there is this one lady who works in the one by my house. She is an older lady and has been doing hair for like 30 years or something. She's amaaaaaazing. Anything I've ever asked her to do, she's gotten just how I want it. It's like $20 with tip for a basic cut, so very cheap. I won't use any of the other ladies there though, just her.

I get my hair cut for around 35, that's with tip. I color my own hair, but I went to cosmetology school. If I could cut the back of my head I would be set. I've always done my own color. Highlights and all when I had them. Lol.

Usually about $20.00 for a cut and that is usually just a trim. I don't highlight my hair or color it because I like it the way it is.

Soo many hacks at salons! 🙄 They've managed to ruin and overcharge me every time and can't even be trusted to properly dust my ends because my hair is long, always has been long, always will be long, and trying to get it longer lol (to like the back of my thighs). I don't know if it's jealousy, stupidity or pure incompetence because you'd think someone who cuts hair would know what 1/8" is. Even at the beauty school with an instructor watching it's a shit show. Now my hair is back to virgin and I trim it my damn self every 6 weeks or so. So yeah mine is free 😆
