So it is March 15, 2017 when I am writing this Thread. After a mild winter with 50's, 60's and even a few low 70's degree temperature Fahrenheit days, winter hit with a BLAST this week. Ending in 6 inches of REALLY HEAVY snow. The wet, heavy, going to refreeze kind when it goes down to 18 (feels like 5) degree nights for the next week. Black ice in the early AM's storm aftermath. (not really the end of the world).
I have only gotten to tan maybe 3 times in the last 2+ weeks. (again, not really the end of the world). Though I am still pretty dark and noticeably darker than most people in winter in the Mid-Atlantic states in the U.S.A.
It technically is spring here in about 5 days. There is snow piled up on my lawn, in the culdesac, by the township snow plow, over 3 feet high at the curb. It is COLD. Down in the teens with single digit "feels like" temperatures for another week.
Yet the spring and longer and stronger outdoor UV and warmth looms.....
Do you go indoor tanning more now? To build for the coming spring and summer? Have you faded over the winter or are you a year round tan maintainer?
These are the thoughts of a pro tan, crave the darkness guy (me).
I really crave the warmth of the UV beds and relaxation this time of year. Frequently, I choose the 20 minute lower UVA and higher UVB bed for relaxation, warmth, and vitamin D. In the process, I also get a deep resource of mealin developed by the longer UVB exposures for future browning in an HP bed upgrade once a week or so.
As April/May comes around, I might increase to 3 - 5 times a week tanning. At least one of those a week in an HP upgrade bed, all at the full times. Then when Memorial day at the pool hits and I terminate my indoor tanning membership. I am full Tan and ready for Summer Fun in the Sun.
When Autumn arrives I start my indoor tanning membership at the salon again, following outdoor summer tanning.
Members, please respond and post your personal thoughts and rituals involving tanning and preparing for summer out of a cold winter. Or Maybe you live in a year round warm place and have a totally different perspective.
