Sooo I haven't been tanning as often as before, and the salon by my house has crappy bulbs, I've determined. I just wasn't getting the color I had before but there's nothing else within 20 mins of my house! Ugh. So I decided to try spraying for the first time... I did mystic and versa about a week apart. I did dark in both. Here's my reaction: Mystic- I got good color, I felt like. Except the barrier cream didn't work on my hands? I had gross looking hands for like 4 days! Ew. That in itself is turning me off from doing it again, except I got much more color on the rest of my body, so I don't know if I should just try again and really coat the barrier cream on.
Versa- I had no streaking or staining, and it faded better. It was also much much lighter. I used Cal Tan's gel for use before spray tanning this time, and have the versa after tan extender. I just never got that good, dark color. I was disappointed. I did use lotion in the tanning bed before though, the girls at palm beach tan told me it was ok. I tanned dry before I did mystic. Not sure if that had anything to do with it. I was so itchy for days after mystic though and I assumed it was from not using lotion in the tanning bed.
I have 3 more cocktail tans and I plan on using them but I'm not sure which one I think is worth doing again...

Really coat your hands with the Barrier cream... it will make a difference... leave almost a visible coat on the palms and the nails... you will love the results the next time...
.... Just this week I've purchased a salon/professional spray tanning unit and I'm thinking about switching over to spray tanning only... My sister was found to have some cancer spots on her shoulder two days after Christmas and it really got me thinking...
.... I've always loved spray tanning in the past just because you can get that color you crave from the start...
................................ So try some extra Barrier cream nice and thick... It'll do the trick... ;D

I look at it like this... you have a real tan... just a different kind that's all....

Haha yeah I just like knowing it isn't going to go away in the shower or if I exfoliate or anything like that!! I really don't even use bronzers often when I tan, I use mostly accels, because I just prefer the way I look knowing it's a deep color. It's funny, all my friends that spray have told me they prefer versa but I just watched a video on youtube with 2 sisters who went together to spray and one did mystic and the other did versa. The results the next day were CLEARLY different. The chick who did versa didn't look like she had much of a tan at all to me.

I've watched that vid too.... ;D Some people don't like bronzes... Even when I did UV tan I would usually half to have my bronzers 2 out of 3 sessions ...and I don't know why but even if its UV tan or Spray tan when I exfoliate my color lightens big time. Must just be my skin type... Even though I tan easily...

So annoyed. I went in today to do another cocktail and told the girl I was unsure whether to do mystic or versa. Welllll she informed me that I did not do the 'dark' versa last time, even though that's what I asked for. What a waste! I tanned in the ergo 1100 today and actually did the dark spray, along with using fake bake self tanner thurs night and the versa tan extender last night. Lol.. I'm closer to the color I want after all that work! Something is breaking me out though!! I have a feeling it's the versa tan extender but it could just be the versa spray. I'm really bummed about that:(

After all that, I'm getting satisfied with my color, but it being fake means it'll only last a few days! THAT is another reason I prefer having a real tan, ugh. Attachments:

I just discovered I have a streak down my inner legs where the spray didn't hit. Such a poor way to design a spray machine with only 2 positions (Mystic). 🙄
