I have an appointment tomorrow to get my hair colored. Back in March, I had it dyed darker after being very blonde, so some of the blonde ended up coming back through after a month. It's faded a lot so I can't wait to get it redone. However, I'd like to try her hair color. She used to play on Days of Our Lives: She always has a nice tan too! Brunette ladies, does anyone have any suggestions for keeping my hair color up and keeping it from fading? I always try to wear my Tannie cap when I do tan and I try to use good hair products. I only wash my hair 3x a week max since I have a ton of hair that can dry out if I wash it too much.

It's good that you only wash your hair 3 times a week as that is a big help. Also, tannie cap is good. I'd also recommend using a shampoo that is sulfate-free. I like the brand Organix, and you can get it at places like Walgreens or even Walmart.

I was brunette all my life till recently, and just added lowlights in light brown, bc my hair photographed white, and was breaking in front, I cut off my bangs, willingly to remove breakage. The hard thing about being brunette is color pulls rt out. Yes, dying blond requires more touch ups, but darker color, is actually more maintenance. I have naturally dark hair...but for some reason dark browns fade into red on me. The only color I'd want to be other than blond now is bright red...but that is more maintenance. The one thing I like about dark hair though (that I miss with blond) is that u can go super dark with ur an, and look so exotic. One of the reasons I added lowlights was bc I wanted to be ale to look good again with a deep tan

View AttachmentView AttachmentMy suggestion for happy color at any level is gradual, your hair will be pleased, and healthier. Here's an example of what I did with my hair....so u basically can reverse it a bit, and maintain a look u like...it's not instant gratification, but the evolution is fun....and u get to try a lot of looks in between...
